Welcome to Haweli Cottage, a pine haven nestled in the heart of the breathtaking wilderness of Manigotagan, Manitoba, on the shores of Lake Winnipeg. Built with love and dedication by Nona Dhillon in 2009, Haweli Cottage stands as a testament to a passion for outdoor adventure and a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds it.

Haweli Cottage is fully stocked with all the equipment, machinery and tools for all the things that Nona loves. Everything you need to cook a feast of food - a gourmet indoor kitchen and a bbq for grill season! No cottage in Manitoba is complete without snow mobiles for a fun day out on the frozen lake, a beautiful new jet boat, all fishing gear plus much much more!
Nona is an avid golfer and outdoorsman. Often a day of golf is followed by a retreat to the cottage and visiting all the neighbors in the cottage community. The local watering hole is called the "Wood N Bell" and Nona is a known regular! Nona has great time entertaining his friends and family with all summer and winter activities.
It Was All A Dream
Allow me to introduce you to Brent Dhillon, affectionately known as Nona Dhillon by his close circle of friends, family, and loved ones. Nona's journey began in 1975 when he embarked on a life-altering adventure, leaving his homeland of Punjab, India, at the tender age of 16. His destination: Beausejour, Manitoba, a place worlds apart from the vibrant culture and bustling streets of Punjab.
In those early days, Nona held a peculiar misconception about cottages. To him, they were synonymous with ramshackle shacks hidden deep within the woods, reserved for the less fortunate. That notion was swiftly shattered when a generous neighbor extended an invitation, beckoning Nona to experience a genuine cottage getaway.
That fateful visit to the cottage transformed Nona's perspective forever. He found himself reveling in the simple pleasures of life, embarking on boat adventures, and forging connections with individuals from diverse walks of life. It was a turning point, one that ignited a fervent desire within him – the dream of creating a haven where he could retreat with his own family and cherished friends.
Over the years, Nona's passion for outdoor activities grew exponentially. Snowmobiling through pristine snowscapes, casting lines into tranquil waters for a day of fishing, swinging clubs on the golf course, venturing into the wilderness for hunting, and jetting on serene waters became integral parts of his life.
In 2009, after years of nurturing his dream, Nona transformed it into a tangible reality. With unwavering determination and relentless effort, he built Haweli Cottage from the ground up. This labor of love became more than just a structure; it evolved into a cherished retreat where family and friends could gather, forge lasting memories, and relish the beauty of nature.
Much like the kind neighbor who introduced him to the enchanting world of cottages, Nona has since welcomed countless others to Haweli Cottage, offering them their inaugural cottage experience, their first exhilarating ride on a snowmobile, or their maiden voyage on a boat. In fact, Nona's dear friend, Goldie Singh aka GS, was at the cottage so often that he and Nona joined as co-owners of their favorite place in the world! Goldie's love of the cottage and outdoor activities has brought so much additional love and joy to Haveli.
Nona's generosity and passion for sharing life's joys have made Haweli Cottage a place where laughter resonates, stories are woven, and cherished moments are etched into the hearts of those fortunate enough to visit.
